powerworks

I am thinking about ordering a powerworks setup and was wondering if 1. the stock clutch would be capable of handling the increased power and 2. would a lsd be absolutly neccesary of just a nice thing to have, also would a lsd make my car faster as a result of getting more power to the ground or does it just improve drivability?

clutch- a NEED
lsd- would be nice..it would greatly increase your acceleration, not give you horsepower so to speak, but make 1st and 2nd gear more than just sliding

The lsd would help increase traction in first gear.

I would recommend atleast a clutch masters stage 3 and aluminium flyhweel. We sell all of parts you are looking for, and We can give you a great package price on these items.

you do not "NEED" a clutch!
one of our Zetec cars is now putting down 255 fwhp and 210lb/ft with the stock clutch and has been doing so for about 10,000kms(~6500miles) without issue.

Like anything, it is a good idea to get a clutch, sooner or later you will need it. if the stocker you currently have is getting a little tired or has seen better days then i would say yes, get a clutch. if you do not drive the shit out of your car then the stock clutch can and will hold the power made by the PW kit and then some for a good long while.

as for the LSD, again, it's a good thing to have but not "NEEDED" unless you are serious about track days, AutoX and/or the strip.

i would suggest running the stock clutch, if you haven't racked up a ton of mileage or abuse on it, untill it starts to not work for you. By then you should have saved up enough money to buy a very solid clutch.

We suggest and install Clutchnet clutches on all of our PW cars... best Zetec clutches out there! :)

You dont have to come here if you get my turbo , find a local dyno and i can send a base tune to go to the dyno with and if they do diablosport ill be glad to send them my file or choose the SCT ProRacer and you do the tuning or your local dyno do the tuning with it and i also help with that

Same thing with the PC

Original clutches hold fine if they aren't already beat to death.

We've had OE-replacement (TSB fixes) and Ford Racing (Centerforce) clutches work well too.

Other than the Centerforce, we haven't tried any other aftermarket clutches ... yet.

A LSD isn't a necessity, but can make the car friendlier to drive when putting down the power.
