Question RS turbo?

Please forgive my ignorance on this issue, and for reposting a question that has probably been asked several hundred times before. I tried to educate myself by using the search function, but keep having trouble with the word "RS" not having enough letters...
<is there anyway to fix that mods? a case sensitive button maybe?>

First off, what is the difference between the RS engine and the Focus zetec? I heard that it was actually the zetec with a duratec badge... is this bs? If they are in fact the same, and assuming you could get the parts, shouldn't the turbo setup from the RS bolt on with only minor modifications/tuning? Has anyone done this?
Has anyone tried to copy the WRC focus turbo setup?

Just curious.

Thanks for your patience and help!

I know that parts are pretty scarce for the RS. And there is a 2.0 duratec engine, but I'm pretty sure the RS uses the Zetec. I know someone on here bought an RS intake manifold to use on their Zetec engine and they had some issues with fitment. I'm sure you could buy an aftermarket turbo cheaper than you can buy the RS turbo from Ford. And you can definitely get a better turbo, seeing as how the RS has been around for a few years.

the rs is a 2.0 zetec turbo...
and yes...
you would get better gains with an after market turbo...

The zetec and RS duratec engine is the same. You can put an RS turbo on a zetec. I believe Cochyn has done an RS engine swap. It would be to just use an after market turbo though.

Yeah, but someone on this board bought an RS turbo manifold off of ebay UK, and they had problems making it work. I think they ended up scrapping it and going with Tom's manifold.

It is probably a good way to go if you have it all ( like a wrecked RS ) but to piece it together , it would be easier to buy a regular kit ( there are many to choose from )

I know "tin_maddog" is using the Rs mani on his SPI this is what he posted about it

It will cost approximately $75.00 to ship from the UK if that is where it is currently.

Now, considering the cost, it's a good price. But I think it is NOT the best setup. I wish I would've saved the scratch and got the JGSTurbo manifold. Two main reasons: The ports don't quite match up. You can bolt it on, it'll work, but the flow is rather impeded. Also, it really sets the turbo out to the front. The fan "issue" is a rather large one unless you intend on moving your radiator forward, therefore giving you room to move your fans forward; or get a thinner fan.

BTW, thanks for the props, Jim!
