Thumbs up Hallman Evolution RX Review

recently got a hallman mbc for my birthday. i figured it was the most appropriate option for my needs at this point. ive tried other mbcs in the past, such as the turboxs, and was very disappointed with spiking and holding ability. thats why i spent ample time researching the hallman and by all accounts it is a superior model.

i typically run around 10psi on my turbo but recently i added a baffled 2.5" muffler to my 3" exhaust just after the flex area. the restriction knocked me down about 4 psi and i was out of room to shim my wg anymore with my current spring. the hbc was a perfect remedy and fully tightened im back up to ~10psi. it also came with another spring which i can swap in to the hbc to add even more boost.

after running the hbc for a few days with very satisfactory results i decided it was time to install the cockpit adjustment knob. i chose to mount the knob to the right of the hood release under the steering wheel. drilling the firewall was a simple process with the dremel. i snaked the line out around the fender wall and have the hbc mounted atop the radiator in front of my wg to minimize signal line length.

all in all the kit is perfect for my needs. the boost controller exhibits no spiking even under high load with sudden throttle changes. it also holds peak boost very well. the cockpit adjustment mechanism works well but could be better designed imo. if you want a bargain boost controller without compromising function, this is a very good option.
