im tryin to find a site that carries the powerworks kit for the automatic but not having luck. I see the manual kit everywhere. Also anyone know of what 1/4 miles times i would be looking at if that was the only mod. Also what would be some mods i could do and still keep on if i wanna go with the powerorks kit?

you can keep just about any mods with the exception of an UDP and obviously you'll lose any intake that you have on the car. i'm currently in the process of saving up for a PW kit for my auto. i would think that you can call up Focus Sport or New Edge and they should be able to order you a kit

Any of the distributors can get you the auto kit - doesn't necessarily have to be shown on their websites.

A cat-back exhaust (if you are still OE) would give you another 10HP increase. Adding a high-flow cat or an ORP might actually drop the boost level a bit.

A stiffer lower engine mount can be a good thing too. Poly bushings in the OE link, a VF or a Mac. Changing the upper mounts could also help, but also add a fair amount of vibration.

All base Foci (5-spds and autos) can use better brakes to handle the additional power. Premium pads/shoes and braided flex lines are a good starting point ... beyond that go with a disc brake conversions.

If you are going to do a lot of 1/4 mile runs, I would start thinking about adding a trans cooler and a valvebody as good DIY'er starting points.

A header might drop the boost just a bit - depending on it's design.

Chip and intake wouldn't be used with a PW kit - chip would get pulled when the ECU is reflashed with the PW tune and the intake would get thrown out.

Cams could help - check with ZX3tuning on what he is doing with the cams and the PW kit.

Lentech trans wouldn't hurt. After the trans is beefed up, better halfshafts and CVs will be necessary.

Getting the PW auto kit (200 WHP) up to a reliable 250+ WHP would be a challenge ... and the stock engine internals would be at their limits.

More boost could be added, but again, stock engine internals will be at their limits.

^^ is that 200whp on a stock car, or does that include the cat-back too?
so you're pretty much saying that if i were to add a race header it could drop the amount of HP that the kit puts out?

NO it would drop the boost. But if its like the JRSC youll loose boost because of less back pressure but you shouldnt loose to much power.

200 WHP stock.

Depending on the header (and what cat is connected to it) it is possible to effectively lower max horsepower because of a reduction in backpressure ... max boost could drop.

People will need to experiment. We have noticed a 2 psi boost drop if SVT exhaust (header, cat, cat-back) is added to a base Zetec PW kit. That is all we have had time to do ...
