turbo set-up on the exhaust pipe.

i was thinking about setting up a turbo in the rear of the exhaust or maybe mid car. just wondering. it may be another option if i have no room in the engine bay...it would be different and kinda cool i think

Uh, yea, FI=forced INduction=turbo or s/c.

What you're talking about would be like forced outduction or something. Wouldn't do anything for your car, really.

A turbo is spooled up by the exaust thats where the idea came from. Now I have seen a Turbo diesel truck that has the turbo mounted in the rear of the truck so I dont think this is totally impossible. Its a good idea malcon only problem is how to route the intake tubes back to the engine bay.

I think that he means he wants to do a remote exhaust driven turbo. why do you think you cant fit it in the bay. I have not heard of anyone else with this problem. is it true that there are advantages like cooler air temps at the intake manifold if you go this direction

There's a place that offers what he's talking about, remote mount turbochargers, its called Squires Turbo Systems.

STS Remote Turbos Link

No kits for our cars, but I saw in some magazine where they installed it on a Chevy truck or something. Its an interesting approach and I'd like to see one in person.
