Exclamation Nitrous precautions, for our sake!

For those who use "the juice", especially those who have SVT's be careful not to load the intake. I sprayed my foci the other day and just pulled in the driveway and parked my car for about an hour. When i restarted the car the 2nd stage was "loaded" and at start up the 2nd stage may open slightly, which mine did and it blew my intake manifold apart. so this is just for others so they dont have the same issue. Just after you spray make sure to run the car at least once to clear the manifold. Also note that warranty inspectors CAN tell if you have been using nitrous, i didnt have to go to the dealer, i just fixed it and hoped for the best. Peace, Mike

If you ran the car at all even at idle pulling into your house that should of been enough to clear out the intake , More than enough

I would look for a sticking/leaking Solenoid

Your not the first or the only one , I get or hear of about 1 a month that that does this

Tom

Tom is right. I have seen plenty 'o' new mustangs with broken plastic intakes from nitrous backfires ( often from hitting the rev limiter while spraying ). The focus is plastic , too. I agree with him. I would look for another issue, even if the car ran for a few seconds it should have cleared the intake. Did it spray upon start-up?? I am perplexed.

Luckily it just popped off all the rubber boots/clamps where the manifold meets the motor

Have had it on 3 cars for years!!! Never had that problem. You can blow up a car with any kind of forced induction. Poorley tuned turbo's , blowers, can do an engine in as well... I think nitrous gets a bad rap because sooo many people do cheap half-a$$ed installs

agreed, ppl here in the UK mostly get the controller to go with it and setup by a professional, once the gas is warm enough and you are on WOT that is the only time it gets used.

No one has a problem when its setup like this.
