Powerworks kit for $2000

As much as I would like to keep this little secret to myself and get the kit for $2000, I just don't have the spare cash. Being a responsible father is tough sometimes...

Anyway, Powerworks has donated one of their Zetec kits to the Ford/Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Auction. All proceeds from the auction go to JDRF and their research projects. I know that the auction is viewable from outside of Ford, but I don't know yet if non-Ford employees can bid. I suspect they can from the evidence around the site, but I am not positive. Let me know if you try and bid and are unable to do so.

Anyway, it is a complete Zetec kit. Bidding starts at $2000, and the auction ends this Friday at 5PM EST. The auction has been open since 8 AM on August 15th, but no one has bid on it yet. The kit normally retails for $4750, so if you have the cash you could walk away with a real steal. While there, you can also check out the several hundred other items up for auction.

If you are interested in the kit, click here.

Someone pointed out the Terms of Service to me (see below). Looks like it is only open to Ford, BP, and Hertz employees. Sorry everyone. Mods, feel free to delete this thread.

Auction Terms of Service

All bidders must have an office address in the United States to bid on an item in this Ford Global Walk Team On-line Auction to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and have:

a) a valid CDS ID from Ford Motor Company, which includes all employees, agency and contract employees.

b) a valid employee status at BP company

c) a valid employee status at The Hertz Corporation

2) You must have an email address with one of three address extensions; @ford.com; @bp.com; or @hertz.com. If a bid is a placed by someone without one of these three email address extensions the bid will be retracted immediately.

Yes, I am one of those Ford employees. But they get the daily emails at work about the Ford/JDRF auction being open and that it will close by Friday at 5 PM. If they don't know what is there, it's their own fault. We can leave the thread open, but I would suggest locking it or something.

damn.. i only have about 1/2 the cash. someone needs to pick this up! not only is it for JDRF, which is a really really good cause, but it's only 2k since no one has bid.

zslaton, i'm sure you wouldn't mind being the middle man for someone wanting this, would ya? ;)
