Question how high of PSI??

i was just wondering how high of psi u can run safely on a T3 Super 60 or a GT2860RS...ive heard of people driving with 13psi...ive heard others with higher but they usually turn it down for every day use..whats safe and provides enough power??

No amount of boost is safe without a tune. For daily use, I'd go with 6-10, again, depending on the tune.

As for enough power...lol...there is no such thing. Once you get used to what you've got, you only want more. I used to think my Lightning was more than I would ever need, but given time, it doesn't feel like enough...and the modding has begun.

I run 13psi for daily driving, but its tuned for 15psi..... it just doesn't need the extra 2psi.

This is in a SVT Focus using 93 octane.

13 is to much for daily IMO if you are tuned for 20 or 30 even I have always run it at 7- 9 lbs just because you should always run below your means. Race day is when you open it up to 13 or 15

do u think that because your focus runs turbo and supercharger that it might require to be run on higher psi? or is it just your car?

The nice thing about a turbo is you can be set on 20 but normal daily driving you wont see 6 to 8 unless you get in the throttle hard or aggressive

Dont worry about running it set to 20Psi for daily just drive it like your Mom is with you and the boost wont go up

To answer your question both those turbos will do 18 to 20 PSI but not much more

Tom

Why just race day? My car was tuned by Tom, it showed to be safe at 15psi.... no deto at all. The car makes 305whp on pump gas with all stock internals, its a blast to drive and that is what it was built for. Would you buy a 03-04 Cobra and change pullies to a BIGGER one? Of course not, why??? You'ld be defeating the purpose of buying a SC Cobra.

Toms been running 18psi every day for several thousand miles, he hasn't had any problems. Should he have problems??? Not if it was done right.

Besides if mine does blow.... thats a good excuse to build that full race motor

thats cool if canadian if you read what orange said "if I blow my engine" lol those words are someting you will not have to worry so much about living below your means on a turbo and saving the rest for race day. I was just trying to give you some advice for the long run. Having blown two sr20's I know the pain of losing alot alot alot of money.
