Focus Power aluminum intake manifold

There's a little something that needs to be cleared up concerning the intake manifold.

The intake is made from light weight thin aluminum, it was never intended to be used on a boosted engine is was originally designed for a NA application. Thats why it has cracked, under NA conditions it should have lasted for ever BUT on my SVT it normally sees 13PSI and has seen up to 17psi. That is alot of pressure on something that was designed to be used under a vaccum, plus its one of a kind and I'm still testing it for Tom. If it holds up under my tests it should hold up under anyone elses driving style.

So its NOT poor quality or being cheaply cobbled together, it was just not meant to be used with boost. I'm sure when Tom gets the next one ready it'll hold up fine, and the way this thing flows....... everyone will want one

Well it doesn't seem so in this case. I have never heard of any one blowing the welds apart on an intake manifold just because it was boosted Dom Torretto.

Would there be any good gains with it being NA, I am sure it would be great with cams, but would it be beneficial, just to get one? I know the Skunk2 manifold on hondas kicks ass with a tune. Would this be the same?

Tom does nice work. Nobody wants their stuff to break, but as stated, I'm sure it was meant for NA. It still should hold up under boost. To say that this manifold cracking under boost is "to be expected" would not accurate (no body said it was to be expected, but some might think that is the point being made). It was a build flaw. But that's normal with new products. Every product has it. Tom will fix it and figure out a way to make it work under most any condition, that I have no doubt.

As for power, while running NA, it's probably going to be good for horsepower. I cannot say for sure without seeing the manifold runners, but typically intakes like this will lose a bit of low end torque while opening you up to great high end power.
