legalities?

I was just wondering if anybody knows what the law about having nitrous is? Ive got an autometer nitrous pillar gauge so if I get pulled over its fairly obvious that Ive got it. Anybody have any experience with this?

I believe you have to have a purge valve/ blow off or something like that that leads outside the passanger cabin.

Laws differ everywhere. However, unless your going to milan drag way having Nitris should not matter. Then again if the cop wants to be an ******* he can write citation for a lit cigerette out the window. Most are not that hard. I have a ems badge so I pretty much get away with anything. Here in Fl. cops figure your a proffesional and will cut alot of slack.I would never abuse the badge though. I did get stopped on the way to work once. I got a 200 dollar ticket for 25 over. I had no Idea I was going that fast. He knew were I worked and I was in uniform to. I paid the fine and went to online traffic school. The worst part is. He being an officer knew I could lose my driving status. That means no more driving the ambulance lights and sirens. (Code 3). Not to mention I could lose my freaking .career. In fl. an exhaust is enough to get a ticket though. cops go after younger people. as you get older you'lle notice they won't bat an eye usally. unless your driving like a moron

Technically, in MD. it is illegal. Just don't advertise that you have it, most police would never even notice what that gauge is...don't mention it, and do not draw attention to it...When the police pull you over, attend to the offense at hand and NOTHING else, be polite and professional, but NEVER tip your hand...

BTW, my focus just went through emissions and passed with the nitrous hooked up! They never even batted an eye.

yeah, the laws change depending on where you live. viney is right about md law, nitrous is illegal, but you can get a permit to have your car equipped with a nitrous system. there's a lot of red tape to go through, and you have to put rather large stickers on your bumpers. you also can't drive around with the bottle hooked up, and you can never spray on a public road

I just called the police they said that it is 100% legal in washington to have it installed and hooked up on you car. You cannot however use it on the roads but how could they prove that? You only need a blow off valve leading out of the bottle out of the car in case the bottle blows from overpressurizing if you have a hatchback and are racing on a legal track. Its not required on the street at least not in washington. Thanks for the input guys.
