It's running!

I just got word that my powerworks kit is finally up and running. There's an oil leak somewhere that should be easily found and fixed. Then it'll be datalogged by the installer to make sure everything is absolutely perfect. I expect it back before the end of the week, I'm SO excited! I probably won't be dynoing it until the end of august, as money is really tight now (I need brakes and clutch soon, as well as some gauges to make sure the engine stays safe and happy), but engine bay pictures are to come.

I'd wager the oil leak is one of the oil tube fittings on the oil filter relocater. Be sure to check and retighten those fittings if needed after you've put a few miles on it.

I know you'll love the kit. I've got about 300 miles on mine and have been enjoying it tremendously. As for the kid who drives the SRT-4 in my town, he doesn't seem so enthused. Let's just say his bubble has been burst.

Yeah, I doubt a powerworks focus would be able to beat the SRT-4, especially the ones with the quafe LSD in them. They're torque monsters

The SRT-4 I ran up against certainly has some doubts in his abilities now. He was in a lane at a stoplight that was going to converge into mine in a little less than a 1/4 mile and thought he could get past me and move to the front of the long line of cars. He tried his damnedest but couldn't make it. He had to slam on the brakes to avoid running off the end of the pavement onto the gravel. Maybe next time he'll try harder from the start and blow by me . If so, more power to him. For now at least he's shaking his head wondering how that "Slocus" held him off.

Don't sell your kit short, it makes some serious power.

Oh, I know it will. I'm hoping with my current mods to be making around 225whp, and around 190wtq, but I believe the SRT-4s are seeing around 215whp, and 240wtq stock. I do agree that any SRT-4 driver is in for a surprize if they think they could just walk away from a powerworks Focus.

Therein lies much of the fun of a boosted Focus. People don't expect them to be that quick. I don't expect to kill SRT-4's in a full on drag race, but I sure do like worrying them a bit :)

I hope you get yours home soon. I also had an oil leak on startup and it was my own fault. There are a couple AN fittings that are hard to get a wrench on and I didn't get one of them torqued very well. As a reward I gave my undercarriage an light oil bath. I'd recommend checking them after a couple of full power runs. Since the second tightening I haven't leaked a drop.

Agreed ^^^ That srt4 may be faster, but he will not be expecting what he is about to get!!

I just got the car back tonight. HOLY COW! The boost is so smooth and seamless, it feels like there's simply a larger engine in the car. I am 100% satisfied, and it was worth every penny. There are a few issues, really lean idle, really rich WOT, and stalling on start up. Mostly due to my cams no doubt, so I'm in need of a new tune to work out the bugs. I'll get it on the dyno soon enough, hopefully post up some nice numbers. LOVE IT!
