Thumbs up Propane Injection

Hi all, Some of you know me from that other focus website
I dropped in to let you know I hooked up a home built propane injection setup on my turboed ZX3. I have it regulated to 50psi with a needle valve in line to adjust flow. A Hobbs switch set at 5psi. operates a solenoid to shoot it into the manifold through the PCV hose. PCV is not hooked to it of course.
And it feels GOOD!!!!
It does not act like Nitrous and I don't see those kind of gains.
It does act like RACE GAS! And that was the whole point of making the setup!
When it activates my narrow band A/F pegs full rich and my EGT's never go above 1400, even on an extended pull.
I have a Datalog from a Raptor and SCT PRP tuning file if anyone would like to see and maybe help tune.

thats awesome, its wierd that you posted this now, seeing that earlier i met a guy with an srt-4 with a similar setup, except he was using what he said was an alcohol injection in stead of propane, i thought it was the craziest idea but hey thats awesome to see it works, i honestly thought the guy was making it up trying to fill my head with bs but its good to know he wasnt, if your from the other site and you need some details on it, message FociRacing he really got to talk to the guy about the specifics

tom, do you have anything to add about using these types of kits? I'm seriously thinking about getting one?

Propane adds no performance to a gas engine , It does add octane but with proper tuning that is all that is needed as well

Propane is VERY dangerous and i just dont feel has a place in performance automotive use

Tom, propane will do the same as injecting any other 110 octane fuel at a set boost level. Only it fumagates through the manifold evenly rather than pooling or leaning out one cylinder.

As for safety check out the Rock Crawlers at GotPropane.com or the all out race cars at alternatefuelsracing.com or how about all the Bully Dog diesel injection kits on the road.

If handled correctly propane is safer than gasoline according to many sources.

Once I get the tune straightened out I will be switching to a 1 lb. tank mounted outside of the cabin for safetys sake.

so what would be the difference between propane and alcohol injection? Price of the materials? if the propane injections works well then it seems like it would be a cheaper way than race gas to run high boost. Especially since I can't find anything higher than 101oct here.
