Need help please with BLOW through MAF

OK I am installing a homemade turbo kit and I want to know what is required to make a blow through MAF work vs a Suck through. I know that with a blow through it is easier to use a BOV but what other advantages are there? I assume the maf can detect the difference in air density as well as flow? I need to know with good details and yes i searched but found inconclusive info. I am using a MAF from a 460 V8 ford engine.

You lost me. Hopefully you know what you are doing. That homemade stuff runs right up there with duck tape and zip ties sometimes.

From the way he's talking, he seems to know a little about what he's doing anyway.

You will need 8 to 10 inches before and after the MAF of straight pipe , If you can do this your tuner will do the rest

What tuning do you have

I am considering getting a SCT tune at a SCT dealer that is located at a ford dealership but I need to call them first to find out what they can and can't do because they are part of the ford dealership. Eventually I will get a SCT tune period, but in the mean time I already have a FMU, low impedence bigger injectors, and a SAFC2, and of course the bigger MAF. I currently have all of the parts working together reliably in NA form with good streetability and gas milage. My computer has not relearned the SAFC otherwise I would be really lean from the bigger MAF. I am using the stock computer from my 1996 mercury mystique with my 2002 focus engine. Maybe the focus computers can relearn the SAFC but mine hasn't. I currently have 2500 miles on the current setup in this car with 10500 miles total on the engine. So I need to know what factors to consider when doing a base street tune with a blow through vs a suck through MAF. Does the MAF not only measure the velocity of the incoming air but also the density as this would make a HUGE difference as the velocity of the incoming air charge could be similar at different boost pressures but obviously more air is entering the engine. I hope I am making sense here.

Did you add a ruturnless fuel system to your car or do you have a mercury mystique

What did you use to drive the Low Impedance injectors

I used a resistor pack from an older honda accord. I have a mercury mystique. Yes I am using a return fuel rail.

Can a blow thru be used without an intercooler ?

Could the factory SVTF housing be used ?

If not wich size for an SVTF 2.5 / 3 inch housing ?

Would the blow thru be easier harder or no difference to tune compared to draw thru ?

Blow through is slightly harder to tune

MAF housing size wont matter much as long as you have the range to cover your HP and RPM in your electronice

I have both 2.5 and 3 inch MAF housings for 50.00
