Talking My last clutch question, i swear

I want to get a Spec clutch. The stage 2 can hold 279ft/lbs and stage 3 holds 339ft/lbs. Its going to be daily driven and Id rather not peel out all over the place with my turbo. Does the stage 3 grip real hard and the stage 2 give a little? Because I dont wanna have to deal with a hard gripping clutch in traffic, Im all for speed and acceleration but Id rather not burn rubber 24/7 if i dont have to. What do you guys recommend? Gotta buy it soon so I can wear it in before I put my turbo on for summer, w00p w00p. Thanks

Go stg 2 most of the stg 3's I've driven offer very little engagement and can be hard on other car parts as well...Now this has been with cars other than foci..but this seems to be the case.

the stg III is available in 4 puck and 6 puck. the 4 is like the clutchmasters, pretty grabby. The 6 is what I'm running right now, it's nearly identical feeling to stock but of course grabs harder. both hold the same tq numbers.

I like the six puck also. But any puck is a good puck!!! On a serious note..It is always better to go a little bit more than just enough in this area. It my take a little to get used to a different clutch but I think its better than to have to replace it on short notice...My two cents.

That is true ..until you get to a point where you start breaking transmission parts from hard clutch engagement ( it happens )... But stg 3 is about the limit on the street IMO..

i went for the Clutch masters stage 3 (FX300) holds quite a bit of torque and its organic so no ON/OFF engagement. also recently drove a car with a paddle clutch (6 puck) and i found it very easy to drive, not far off stock. but you can feel it bites alot harder.

agreed on/off types and high rev lauches reduces the gearbox's life, you may need to look at building the box if you like rally starts.

Thanks Tom!
I work mostly with WRX's and Hondas at our shop.. The WRX has a weak tranny and we see problems with anything over a STG III in those cars
