jrsc w/ big boost kit bov sound

there is nothing better than a BOV sound of a turbocharged car, what can i do to the JRSC to make it sound anything like a BOV. I mean as long as there is pressure/boost, there must be something out there that makes it sound nice when letting off the boost...OR does the JRSC have its own unique sound when shifting?

You could do one of three things;

1) Get the ricer accessory that goes in your tailpipe and makes the turbo spooling sound (and as they claim) "occassionally" makes a BOV sound.

2) Get the other ricer accessory that puts two PA speakers under your hood and electronically makes the noise every time you press down on the clutch.

3) Just say screw the JRSC and actually get a turbo setup with a real BOV, making a real sound.

Seriously, there's really no need for a BOV on a supercharger. Since the SC is synchronized with the engine via the belt, as soon as the revs start to fall off the SC backs off too. With a turbo (spinning at 25,000+ RPM) it can take a few seconds for the turbine to spin down, meaning you'd end up with backpressure between the turbo and the TB, resulting in damage to both. Since the SC starts to back off as soon as you take your foot off the pedal, there's somewhere for that excess pressure to go.

I really don't see why some people are obsessed with this BOV sound. I have heard it and to me it's no big deal. I will say the newer turbo cars sound a lot different than my friends Grand National when he lets off the gas, his has more of a "chattering" sound.

actually my JRSC had a BOV sound....kinda of a cheesy whistle sound after i let off the gas or throttle......but that was because i had a big big big boost leak..

so it let the sound from the bypass valve out...you dont hear it i suppose cause it's all enclosed in a sealed system....otherwise you'd have a boost leak, too.

it sounded pretty good, and i thought i'd hear it when i got my boost leak fixed. but i didn't.

but i just drove my car today for the first time since i got my BIG boost kit .... the power is Awesome compared to the stock JRSC kit....and when i change out the SVT airbox that came with the kit with a Cool Flo intake setup, the whine will be way louder!

Unfortunatly, no BOV sound....but taht's ok.
