Go with Tom's STG 1 kit or the procharger SC?

I've got a 2001 ZX3 (which btw has died twice on me...like the power just cuts out...have to turn it back on and it runs...anyone know what this is?). I would like to keep my internals stock, I'm not trying to spend too much money...so should I go with the procharger (or powerworks) SC or Tom's STG 1 kit...which has more potential, and will yeild better gains? What's the peak hp gainable with Tom's kit (w/o engine rebuild), and what's the potential behind the SCs? Any thoughts?

ive always heard a turbo will give you the most power, but also that from a reliabilty point of view, a supercharger is the way to go. Personally, i would go with the supercharger. But this is something you should def research ALOT before you spend any money.

i'm willing to spend around $5k...which makes the powerworks pretty ideal...beat the rsx-s w/o having to really do anything....at least engine-wise. the turbo stg 1 I saw will give 150/150 safely and 190/190 with engine build or something like that....whereas the powerworks will give 220/180 for 5k w/nothing done to the engine. plus they just reflash your chip so tuning is real easy.

according to your profile you don't have any mods. before you get anything you should at least do your exhaust 2.5 all the way back. so if you have to stay legal go the svt header and r/t cat route and if not get a race header and flex: either of which can be paired up with a borla or mbrp.

Either way. I wouldn't do Toms stage 1 unless you are absolutely willing to pay more money later. Because knowing your an intercooler away from bigger power, you wont be able to help yourself ;)

with 5 k you could manage toms stage 1..its alot cheaper than the procharger..might require alota tuning n what not but since you have an extra 2 k so spare after the kt you could manage it

And what bela more power later with the power works will be free ? I know what you ment

An intercooler away will cost MUCH LESS to get more power than with the PW kit

My STG1 kit will make 200/200 at the wheels with 93 fuel very easy, it is just as relaible as any SC and very nice for daily driving

Tom
