Electric Turbos?

Is there a company that makes electronic turbos for the focus so it fits right on the CAI? I've seen it on other cars and I was curious if they have it for the focus.

NM I found it. They are electronic superchargers that sitt inside the intake. They claim 30 hp gains. That's alot of BS for a 69 dollar mod. Look below!

The only Worthwhile electric turbo has been in development for over 7 years.

I read about it in HCi, or something. But anyways, almost all electric turbo's are crap. they don't put out enough air, and in most cases will Cost you HP.

a turbo that doesn't make at least 3 psi is doing no good. 3 psi is just like a little push for the air that's being sucked in via vacuum. Real turbines that spin at over 10,000 rpm and drive 7-8 psi litterally force the air into the engine, so there's little vacuum effect (in fact, none). you can just observe this by watching a boost gauge in a turbo car.

anyways back to the point. I have seen a electric turbo that uses multiple dry-cell batteries wired to produce some major amperage to spin a tri-motor blade assembly. the kit pushes out 6 something psi, but is most compareable to a nitrous shot in that the motor assembly, using so much electricity... is only able to a run time of like 90 seconds or less.

it's pretty much an issue that is non-worthwhile and money should be spent on other means. just my opinion.

I dunno what to think. The electric supercharger that Foci_Fosho mentioned costs about half as much as a JRSC, but makes almost as much power. You can think of it as using nitrous because the power only lasts for 15 or so seconds until it needs to be "recharged" which takes a few minutes. Basically it gives you enough boost for a quarter mile run, and gets recharged while you wait for your next run.

I don't think there is any way to upgrade it, but you can run UDP's and not worry about losing boost.

www.boosthead.com is the only ESC that i know of. i think it is worth if for the pure fact that its only there when u need it like when that SRT-neon wants to run. after u waste him then u leave it off. so it is like a shot of nitrous and this can be set up to 15psi i think not to sure i dont remember. but it does produce power. so it depends on what u plan on using it it for. in my case im looking into getting it because i dont want boost until i need it. if i wanted boost i would have bought a car that had more power like the cobalt ss or the dern srt. so thats just the way i see it.
