Tom can you explain this?

now this is what i dont understand about the stage 1 kit from tom now bear with me and let me know if im making any sense..............I own a svt and it comes with basically around 150-155 whp and the cost for stage one kit is the same as it would be for a regular zx3 with around 110whp or whatever stock............does anyone see what im talking about for the same money the svt people are only getting about 45-50whp and 70 or so wtq while the regular zx3 folks are getting like 90 or so whp and about the same on wtq..........WHY IS THAT i would think that kit would make more whp for the svt than the regular zx3 basically the svt guys are getting reamed for the amount of hp that we get...........based on Toms website www.focus-power.com the zx3 stage 1 kit with tuning is $3445.00 and the svt stage 1 kit is $3645.00 so when you do the math the zx3 people pay like 38.30 per whp and the SVT GUYS woud pay like double like $73.00 frickin dollars per whp NOW CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHY THIS IS?????????? I would just like to know why it costs more for us when have more whp stock than a normal focus?

I would assume you would not be able to run as much boost due to compression differances.

i would assume its due to the high compression of our motors that doesnt allow us to run as much boost. dont really have any idea though.

If you are willing to run higher octane than you will get higher HP\TQ numbers

SVT is limited because of the higher compression, lower the compression and i can add more timing for more power

would the numbers still be at 200/200 with a bolt-on modded engine?

i mean high flow cat, UDP, intake, TB, etc.

what would that change?

correct me if im wrong but wouldnt you have to change out pistons and other internals to really start seeing big numbers. i think most people running turbos shoot for mid 8 compression and we are over 10

Well I'm putting down 230whp and 220 ft/lbs on 91 octane right now with the Random Tech cat and a 2.5 inch exhaust. And with a bit more tuning, my custom 3" and the RT ORP I should be seeing hopefully about 250 and 240 on 91 octane.

If I had 93 octane I could gaurantee you I'd see 250-260 and 240 ft/lbs possibly higher.

On 100 I put down 273 and 240 ft/lbs with a terribly bad clutch which only grabbed at about 6400 RPMs. So realistically I might have been closer to about 280-290whp and 260 ft/lbs but I can't claim that since I have no proof. It's just a guestimate.
