turbo tuning help

2000 zx3 mtx

ok, first off, my mods:

FR 9mm wires
one step colder spark plugs
ssautochrome 4-1 race header w/ ORP
volant intake
-currently-pro-m 70mm with stock injectors
obx-r catback exhaust
FC 65mm TB
FC crank UDP

also, i have a aerocharger stage 1 kit with 36 lb injectors and SCT chip to burn and install

what i need to know is (from experienced ppl please) ...is the best route to take as far as burning/tuning the SCT chip (mail into randy or ray vs going to local yahoo sct dealer) and what MAF to use...i know there is alot of contraversy over Pro-m and ford MAFs, but i got a pro-m cause i needed one and i bought it with the intake...so, with that said, should i stick with the pro-m and get it recalibrated, or can i use an SVT or cobra MAF with 36 lb injectors??

and finally, whats the best/safest way to get my aero tuned properly adn safely in my jacksonville area...is it safe to take to a local dyno??...i want safety just as much as HP

thanks for any input...Tom, Randy, Ray..anyone else

Brenden

well randy has dealt with the aerocharger and has the tunes, ray has done turbo cars but im not sure on how many aerocharged vehicles. i wouldn't go local unless they they have a good history...but tuned on a dyno is always better then mail order.

get the maf recalibrated. just my opinion funny.

I would buy a SVT air box / MAF combo... used to be able to get this for about $200... another $20 or so for the SVT intake snorkel.

I would see if Randy could tune it.... but again, tuning really needs to be done in person.

Tuning by mail, youll want to probably want to get an OEM Maf. The new GT MAF's are good to about 300 to the wheels (in their stock housing) however if your not going to be putting down nearly that much, then it could be over kill.

But an OEM MAF will be much less of an issue to tune via mail order.
An cobra maf would be to big for you, and the SVTF maf is only good to just a tad over 200whp unless you put it in a bigger housing (which is a viable solution).

Personally I would keep the pro-m, and get the pro-racer package. There is alot of decent help to tune the car yourself.

I did an SVT maf in the Procharger SVT housing on my Zetec.

This has been brought up on another site and it was calculated that if you were to put just the stock zetec MAF into a bigger housing it would expand the electronics up to 230hp range.

How ever things are getting easier. Tom now sells bigger housing kits and the Diablo MAF AI :D The Diablo MAF AI is something worth looking into.

Another sughestion for tuning is to pick up a wideband. I just picked up a Innovate LM-1. It does do data loggign and well come in handy when I goto the dyno and get my tune tweaked.
