turbo of S/C

i have the money saved up to buy either the starter turbo kit for turbo toms, or buy the JR supercharger, i cant really make up my mind what to do, i want a turbo becuase you can get more power out of it, but it requires alot more tuning, and the JR S/C only gives you 18% more power, so i need some HELP please!!!

Yeah, it is a lot of cash!! If it were me, I would go with a turbo, I think you would be happier with it if you have the money for it. I had a S/C on my Grand Prix GTP and it was a runnin SOB but when the summer heat was melting everything in the city (lol) it's performance went down hill very quickly because it was sucking in hot air to begin with and a roots-type blower makes a LOT of heat compressing the air so you end up forcing a lot of very hot air into the engine and actually hurting the performance. An Inter-Cooled turbo is the way to go brutha, IMHO.

I bought Tom's starter kit, intercooler, and MIC a couple of years ago. Picked up silicone couplings, wastegate, boost controller, and BOV on ebay. Add one turbonetics super 60 More than a JRSC but worth it. And less than the $5500.

Mcnews now has the JRSC with the big boost kit for only $2800, it comes with SVT MAF ,30# injectors, SVT airbox and snorkle, tuning, smaller pulley and belt. I have heard of people getting close to 200whp with this kit. Toms is a good starter kit but by the time you add all the little things like MAF, injectors, intercooler, and tuning you will end up being close to $5000. It is still a great deal but I can give up a few hp for $2000.

On the other hand, the turbo has almost endless upgradability. The stock turbo in Toms kit will do more than the SVT can handle without a serious buildup of the motor.

Besides a Turbo will smoke the shit out of a JRSC........

aaaahhh yes... the endless debate continues.

you have to decide what you want and also what you want in the future.
if you're gonna be happy with 180-200hp, get the jrsc all the bolt-ons and call it a day.

if you think that maybe one teeny weeny little molecule inside you might want to go bigger some day, get the turbo.

look deep inside yourself young grasshopper.
