on PBS just now i saw a 3-4 minute segment about roush cars including the roush focus.....to say the least, I was disappointed. 220whp sounds nice, but they followed it by a quarter mile time taht made me cringe.... 15.3

15.3!?!? are you kidding me? Either A - they better be pretty bad drivers or B- Im gonna be pissed. 15.3 with $4000 in engine mods is absolute crap. A stock vr6 golf beats that by half a second. Hearing things like this make me want to just make my car a fun cruiser, and not go on with my turbo fabrication dreams.....any thoughts?

If you look on the Turbo-kits.com website, they posted up a 14-something 1/4 mile.

That's about stock SVT times. I know that would be better than that.

thats what i thought

if i go turbo i want low 14s, high 13s.

if i go through with it, my goal is to be faster than a mustang gt (stock) yeah yeah yeah I know that with just bolts on he would probably kill me, but it would just be nice to say to old ignorant men "well its faster than your stang"

Man, sometimes your just like these focuses will never be fast with a pump gas, and it's true because they were not build that hard. If you want a car that's fast, go for an STi, it's the best thing that market has to offer right now. Check this out; you spend like or more than $5000 dollars to go a second faster in the quarter mile. I made up my mind. I am not ever buying 4 cyclinder car that that burns as much gas as v8. I'll just get the bigger car (V8 or V6) for being better and faster.

well heres the deal with small econobox cars that people want to make them fast -

99% of people that buy them, buy them because they cant afford something more expensive. So when it comes time that they wanna run 10sec quarters in it, they just throw a blow off noise maker and a fart can on. There are VERY few people that have the dedication to completely rebuild a motor in one of these cars, like is very commonplace in higher end sports cars and luxury cars. I would much rather have a totlly built up cheap car then a bone stock higher end car anyday. Its more unique and rare. Big deal, daddy can buy his little brat son an M3 for his 16th birthday that can do a mid 13 bone stock, thats nothing special. But when you go ripping past his pampered butt in a fully built econobox, have a camera ready because he is going to look at you with a face that you will never want to forget....

*ok enough soapbox for today*
