Exclamation Possible Ebay/ Turbo Kit scam...

I wanted to post this in FI since people tend to come here when "Kit shopping."

I was looking into getting a turbo kit vs. my JRSC idea and Iw as on ebay trying to source some of the goods...ie; BOV, Turbo, Intercooler, etc. Turbo Manifold and downpipe would be from none other that Turbo Tom.

I came across a kit on ebay ~> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW and I contacted the guy etc. etc. He called me and something just does not feel right....he said "I have an SVT Kit" and "Most of the components are from DRAG (a reputable Honda turbo kitter)." I asked him if it was just parts thrown together and he told me it was an actual kit. He said the brand is "Extreme."

Now, what buggs me #1, is the kit is either $1200 w/o IC or $1500 w/ IC. Good prices for sure! But, I asked him how so cheap and he said "Its like when someone has a Home Depot Gift Card valued at $300 but you pay $150, yeah, like that." HUH!? He has ZIPPY feedback..he's a new ebayer...he WONT do paypal...he wants Western Union; which to my knowledge does not do fraud protection (that I know of). He also gave me a PO box as his addy and he's called me about 17 times asking If I sent the $ yet. Oh, and his # is blocked.

So, just a word to the wise, be careful if you bid on this kit. I asked for a picture of the kit, and he said "Its in the auction" yet the picture clearly says "Turbokits.com" on them...he is also not from a website (I was waiting to hear he was from tk.com), he just has his own shop.

Like I said, something just doesnt stir the kool-aid here. I'm going to go with my first instinct and move along....

Hope I've helped..
