Opinions on what would be a better set up

I'm going supercharged this year. I wanna know what everyone thinks would be a better setup. I wanna either do the Jackson Racing supercharger with a 75 shot of nitrous, or just get the Procharger. My car is daily driven, I dont go to the track all that much, I rarely street race, sometimes I have some fun tooling around, and the nitrous would only be used at the track. Any thoughts?

I would see what the power works SC is going to do , I would take the jrsc out of your thoughts and go Vortech or ProCharger

Tom

I havent heard of the Power Works supercharger, any idea what the info on it is so far? And yeah, I've had my eye on the procharger for a while, however I havent been able to find any info on it online, well not for the SVT anyway.

The power works is based on a innercooled eaton M62 as compared to the JRSC which is a non-cooled M45..The numbers having to do with how much air they move.. The powerworks has really nice potential to work well. There are a few threads on it here and it would be on the web as well, it is being sold under cosworth, but will come up under a search for powerworks..
Do you live in a state where you can run a turbo without emissions hassles??? If so, that is also something to consider

Prochargers are better than Vortec, used those on V-8's before, I'd like to see one installed at a show first, but the air cooled intercooler is more logical and less mechanics than the Vortec water cooler. I've read on a thread in here that Unnatural Aspiration makes a air cooler for the Vortec kit. The only thing I liked about the Vortec is that it came with injectors, and you have to order the injectors seperate with your Procharger. Here's a link about that "Focus Force" supercharger from PowerWorks.

Yeah, this totally looks like the best way to go if you like more torque with your horsepower- I'm sure I'll be looking for a PW distributor when I'm ready to supercharge the wagon this summer:-D

I'm pretty sure the JRSC for the svtf is an M62 and not the M45 (reg. zetec).

From what i am able to find out about the PW is it is a jrsc (rebadged) M62 the same as the jrscM62 on the SVT

The + is its for the ZX3 and it is intercooled

The- is its still a SC on a 2.0 and will be lacking TQ

We will have to see what the numbers are when some get one and get it working

Tom

rockthezx3...I notice you drive an svtf. I emailed powerworks about 2 weeks ago asking for an svtf application for their s/c, and they said to check back in the spring. I dunno what your time table is, but that might be a factor for you. Most apps for standard 2.0zetecs don't apply to the svt version.

Also, tho' I do agree with Tom about SC not having as much TQ as Turbos, seeing as you you're not wanting a track terror or a drag-strip monster, the Procharger or the Powerworks should cure whatever ails ya. The svtf is super fun to drive as is, and, in my opinion, really only needs a bit more straight ahead oomph - not ludicrous speed! And, yea, Vortech is a very good set-up, but as I've said before, I'm not keen on relocating my battery to my fender-well. That's a personal preferance, I know. But, I would want any set-up on my car to be as straight forward as possible; I like things simple.
