alright with a turbo you will get great gains over all but there is one veyr bad thing about a turbo. That one thing is turbo lag, alot of people want huge turbos but they take so long to spool up and its just terrible. if you do go with a turbo you will get great high end power. with the supercharger kits you have direct power, and you get gains all the way through. when i first got into f.i i wanted a turbo kit but i have changed and want a vortech supercharger with aftercooler now if anything

well if you want to go the cheapest turbo set up then you just buy peice by peice....but if you want to go with the best just go with toms turbo kit....best one out there for the focus i believe. the down side is its about 6k so that would cost you quite a bit. and it just depends on the size of the turbo.

Supercharger is IMO the best method for FI. You get instant power and better low end torque which is what really gets the car moving and throws you back in your seat. Turbos are for diesels.

yea tahts what i tried saying but he probably wants a turbo first off like everyone else does. but if you do get a supercharger dont get the jackson racing. no offence to those who own it because its a great add on but the vortech over all is just so much better

The Vortec is not a roots type blower (like JR) it does not have instant boost. The Vortec is a centrifugal blower and does not reach full boost until redline. It's the turbo that will be at full boost during the midrange and have more midrange power. At the same psi they will be producing about the same power at redline.

My turbo kit produces more mid range torque than the SVT Vortec kit, but about the same peak hp.

The JRSC may have a little more low end torque but the sacrifice in peak power is too great.

Turbo kits are more expensive but make no mistake they are still king.

One other thing. Turbo kits allow you to easily adjust boost. When I go to the track and use race fuel I can up the boost and greatly increase power.

To silver03svt ,turbos are for diesels ,I think you don't know what you are talking about . A gas powered engine its thermal efficiency is only 20% which means most of the heat is wasted to the exhaust by using a turbo which is powered by this wasted heat the thermal efficiency of the engine will increase and also the thermal efficiency of a turbo is better than any supercharger ,and also superchargers take power from the engine which is not good for a four cylinder engine . A good seized turbo for the right engine can provide low end torque ,mid range power , top end power than any supercharger .
