PCV Valve

I was browsing central Florida motorsports website and came across this:
Motorcraft PCV Valve for Focus with Supercharger or Turbo

I have a turbo and the stock PCV valve. Do I need this? How is it different than the stock one?

The stock one doesnt have a good seal or spring , the one C-F-M sells or use to sell guessing its the same one is for a boosted SVO or other type

My opinion is you shouldnt be running one with boost as they suck hot oil air back into the intake and engine and thats not a good thing

Yes I do , You take the PCV out , cut the bottom and take out the plunger and spring and plug the hose to the intake , then replace the cut PVC with a 3/8 hose on it and run the 3/8 hose up over the top raid hose and down besides the trans to about 2 inches below the trans and tie it down

The valve cover should also not be going to anything that allows the engine air to get into the intake

Freemind - Yes, I saw that.

Tom - I understand. So essentially I am going to vent the PVC hole. I imagine that it will drip eventually out the hose. I guess I will use a catch can due to the fact that I dont want oil on my drive way.

Also, I put a breather on the valve cover.

Ok , catch can would stop the small amount of dripping , mostly water but can be oily at times with it

Ah. You learn something new everyday. I was curious what exactly a catch can was for. And what exactly it connected to. Cool. Thanks for the insight Tom. I have yet to talk to you personally about forced induction, but from my research you have your fingers in everything! I've learned a lot from you so far. And plan on continuing that learning in my slow pursuit to proper budget turbo power.

I just got the cfm pcv delete kit and installed it today. Super clean part and came with new bolts. I got a new gasket from work( ford dealer). It's the same price as cfm but didnt have to pay shipping. I don't plan on running a catch can. The design lets the oil drip back I to the block and not blow out the tube. Free shipping on the PVC delete from cfm too.

I'll never boost my focus, not worth it. But I do plan to own a boosted car next, that's my goal any ways. I like to learn as much as I can when I can.
