Catch cans work but they put a lot of smell into the car and there costly , mounting , etc and in my opinion you still need to remove the plunger and spring from the PCV

So I am a little confused on this Tom. Cut the bottom to remove the plunger, and completely disconnect it from the intake and just vent it to atmo?

Your basically using the cut up PVC valve as a connector for the hose after this modification. It's simple and easy mod to do.

Here is how I modified my original Duratec PCV valve when going turbo. I cut off the bottom of the plastic and everything falls right out.


Here's what I did this time around. I went with a larger pipe so more pressure can escape the crankcase under boost. There are certainly crankcase odors when idling, but I've just gotten used to that.

Thats a Duratec , Zetec is different looking but the theory is still the same
