yeah for his build we checked the price for port and polish at the machine shop i had the machine work on the engine done. same as you said above. for now he opted for me just installing crower springs and retainers and lappping valves. since he has a lot of fuel system work ahead of him he said he will save head work until later if he ends up needing it

no i mean a tune for the maf and injectors. those are already installed, just need a tune

got the engine in today. waiting to install axles till i have those control arms. starting on a new manifold tomorrow

this is the only pic i have of the engine build. forgot to take any more. but its the same as any built zetec with supertech and eagle.




here is some pic of the turbo kit on the engine. i'll be redoing the manifold. keeping basically the same set up im just going to try to rotate it more to get more runner on the last 2 cyl

damn i just remembered 2 things i meant to ask you. i had a valve cover bolt broken off in the head. did the machine shop manage to get it out? and i was going to ask if you think we should go ahead and replace the radiator hoses with the silicone ones i brought along? it would probably be alot easier to do with the engine out i would imagine.

since you chose to not send the head to the machine shop and had me do the valve work no they did not get the bolt out that was broken. i tried an ease out but i couldnt get it to budge. since it is one in the center i figure it will still seal

silicone hoses are already on

yeah that bolt has been like that for like 6 years and it never leaked. if i need it out that bad i can drill it out and re-tap it. funny story about how it was my own stupid ass fault. just had bought a brand new torque wrench and i was torque spec-ing everything just because i wanted to use my new toy. i had a leaking valve cover gasket so i was replacing it. the book said 52in/lbs of torque, i was sleep deprived and mistook it for 52ft/lbs. i kept thinking the whole time, this cant be right, this is way too much for a valve cover bolt right up until i snapped it off... im a real genius man

cool i was just thinking about those hoses because i was scrounging up a bunch of stuff for a car parts sellathon and realized they were with the car. my biggest fear on a long trip is splitting a radiator hose in the middle of the night. ive had it happen one time and i was stranded in an autozone parking lot for 7 hours after limping the car there from the highway over the course of about 3 hours.
