Weakest link.......

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but oh well. I'm trying to find out as much information as possible about how much power the 4F27E automatic transmition can hold as well as what it's weakest parts are (what breaks first). I figured since this is the forced induction / nitrous forum it would be a good place to ask this.

I'm asking this because i've heard that the 4F27E Focus auto trans is internally the same as the Mazda FN4A-EL and i'm trying to learn more of what its potential is. This was all started by a couple kids on the Mazda forums claiming that the auto will not hold up to the additional power of a basic turbo or supercharger kit but had no actual info to back it up. Any info on either of the trannys would be helpful.

Please don't answer this post with horror stories or rumors youve read about. I'm just looking for facts from people with actual experiance. Thanks!

Did you ever run boost on the trans when it was stock? If so did you ever break anything, if so what was it?

Thanks for the link to Lentech!

When you find out some facts, let us know, cuz as far as I can tell, there is no definitive fact as of yet.

Going by fords information and various gathered info, the auto is designed for no more than 135 wtq.
