Uh, for the SVT, I call Vortech best bet at this moment. Tom's turbo is nice but for the money, I'd personally go with a Vortech.

An intercooled Vortech system on an SVT with the RIGHT TUNE* has been proven to boost power to an extremely comfortable street whp level (275 whp, SAFELY).

* - THIS IS A MUST. NOT ONLY FOR THE VORTECH, but for any FI application.

Now this is only if I had an SVT to play with.

I still stand by JRSC - OEM reliability, back-yard mechanic friendly install (I did the install on my Miata and I had never even changed a belt before!!). VERY clear instructions and you dont have to cut a bunch of stuff under the hood to install it. Dont have to relocate everything either.

Eaton's are proven, 'nuff said...

well the Eaton based kits, JRSC and Powerworks, will produce the most usable powerbands and instant responce.
-the JRSC is simplicity without tuning
-the powerworks kit is(will be) the first COMPLETE bolt-on SC kit for the focus; zx3, svt or 2.3L. it comes with a air-to-water intercooler and Cosworth reflashes your ECU for tuning. this kit will make BIG(250-300+fwhp) power should you drop the Cosworth tune, switch to a smaller pully and get it retuned.

the Vortech takes time to spool up like a big turbo, makes it's power at the top of the powerband leaving the botom-end relitively stock like in power and responce. with the aftercooler or a custom FMIC, this kit can make very big power 250-400fwhp with the right tuning. power delivery is not suitable for AutoX but great for track days!

tom's stuff well, it is what it is. some like it, some don't. some like tom, some don't. some have been screwed over by tom and many have been treated well and had good work done... however the ones who have been screwed over were out thousands of dollars because of it, many of who are friends or customers of mine. however tom right now is the only person to produce a complet bolt-on kit that includes a propper tuning solution. his kits make great power and use great parts, why some have problems.... i do not know.

procharger performance has really yet to be seen. power production will be similar to the Vortech with slightly quicker responce due to the lighter impeller in the SC. pipe routing and IC placement make it easy to upgrade to a FMIC rather than the silly flat mounted under car IC setup. this kit can make big power, 250-400fwhp with converting to a big FMIC, new piping and of course, tuning.

PTE uses a small responcsive GT28R turbo suitable for street applications, power to 275fwhp with great responce from stock kit. can be easily upgraded to the direct bolt-on "Disco Potato" GT28RS turbo if you are in search of big power. tuning that comes with the kit is not "IDEAL" and comes set rich for safety. as with the on going theme of this thread ******TUNING IS KEY****** and should be re-addressed with the stock kit or more so with the upgrade to the GT28RS for optimum results and best power output from your car.
