PowerWorks SC

Ok I now many of us have been discussing this new SC from PowerWorks in other threads. But I just felt our comments were too scattered around in different posts.

Anyways, my question is if this SC is available for the SVTF? I have been reading about it everywhere but they only mention Zetec and the addition of 90 HP. Since their claims state 220 HP and 200 lb/ft I assume that is true only for the regular Zetec Foci, otherwise an SVTF would be upwards of 260 HP, and I don't think that is the case.

And did they measure these HP claims from the wheels?

I was also wondering if the FC Boost Upgrade Kit would work with this SC and if it would have any negative side effects.

I'm willing to bet they measured crank hp, stock hp=130, 130+90=220

I haven't seen any mention of an svt kit yet, but I'm sure it's in development, or rather "tuning"

SVT and 2.3L kits are are in the works
SVT should be good for 250hp and 210-220lb/ft
2.3L should be good for 265hp and 240lb/ft

both are expected to be released in the new year.
pricing is still not finalized but the Zetec kits will retail at $4750 for the complete bolt-on kits.
that includes the blower, air-to-water IC with front mount heat exchanger, intake and filter, injectors, MAF and a Box with paid postage to ship your ECU down to powerworks to get it reflahsed and shipped back to you.
the SVT and 2.3L kits should be no different and probably the same price to maybe $5200, once again, final price on these kits is unknown.

the FC boost upgrade will work however the kit comes tuned out of the box, bumping up the boost even 2 psi will change how the car runs and may or may not be advisable and any damage from doing so would probably void the warrenty on the kit.

I'm sure the 220 hp claim was at the crank. Should be like 190 at the wheels for the Zetec. It's my understanding that this kit uses the M62 blower. You may as well get the JRSC, cause it uses the same blower.

JRSC Zetec blower is the M45, the SVT gets the M62, this cosworth kit uses a M62 with an intercooler..... please get your facts straight.
the power to the wheels should be around 190fwhp

Yeah, my facts are straight. They were asking about the blower for the SVT. That's why I said that the JRSC uses the M62, cause it does on the SVT kit. I shoulda specified that I was talking about the SVT blowers.

fair enough.
but why would you suggest they might aswell get the JRSC?
the JR doesn't come with a MIC tuned by Cosworth or any real tuning for that matter, nor does it come with a TB or a intercooler...
about the only similarity in the kits is the blower.

get a MIC and TB for the JR and get everything propperly tuned and you are right up into the price range of the Powerworks kit and it still is not intercooled...

i fail to see the logic in yourstatement???

Oh, I wasn't fully aware of all the things that come with the powerworks kit. That definitely sounds like a very good deal.

www.powerworks.net someone should have probably stuck that link in the top of the thread somehow, being as how it's pretty much the relevant background here until someone at this board shows up with one. speaking of, anyone know the going rate on a kidney these days? might be worth it... jk

The premise for the kits is ok, unfortunately the price tag makes the kit a horrible buy. Take one powerworks blower and kick it out the window then replace it with a tuned precision turbo kit for around the same $.
