So i have been doing the JRSC install the past week and i had a black pulley on the Charger which measured 2.9" on the outside and 2.5' ish on the inside. Well i had purchased a BBK with a blue pulley and the pulley is the same size??? I did notice the belt that came with it was 99". I am running the new Alternate bracket and tried fitting a 103" inch on the blue pulley and it would not fit. Does anybody who has a BBK can you please measure the outside diameter of their pulley please? Has anybody tried running the 5.7 inch overdrive pulley with just the regular JRSC?? I need some help i have looked at threads back to 2007 with no information on this !
Yes there are black pullies that have the same (or similar) diameter as the Blue BBK pulley (M62). The M45 standard zetec kit came with a 3" pulley and the bbk pulley was 2.5". The SVT m62 kit came with a 3.6" pulley and the BBK pulley was 3.1".
I'm guessing that you have a M45 kit and bought the BBK pulley for a M62.
a 3" pulley would need a 104.5" belt. if you did have the 2.5" bbk m45 pulley it would use a 103.5" belt.
the 99" belt would be correct for the old style alt bracket and an m45 bbk however.
The 5.7" OD crank pulley should be fine with the standard blower pulley, but it wont be as good as the blower pulley as it overdrives all of your belt driven accessories (more parasitic loss) rather then just the blower.
Actually i found out what it is i have a new kit that came with a 2.5 inch pulley stock that is why the pulley is 2.5 inches and black. Thanx to microtel who had the same kit i was able to get this information so now everybody knows now!
The pulley was black if you purchased the JRSC BBK kit with the pulley installed.
It was only blue if you bought the smaller pulley.
The smaller pulley IIRC is about 2.5" in diameter.
I have a svt with the BBK kit and I would like to increase my boost. What are your boost numbers with the 2.5 pulley
