Procharger or Turbo?

Alright, so i was looking at Tom's kit, both STG1 and full kit, because now i've found a place that sells 100 and 110 race fuel for $4.00/gallon. So i am still looking at Tom's equipment but it makes it hard to see reality with that since i am in kansas city and his business is in north carolina. The other night when i went to check out the place with race fuel with my buddy with an acr neon, we saw a guy who we had passed on the interstate with a black mustang. He was getting the race gas and we talked to him to see what he had. Well, come to find that he had a 99 cobra, with a procharger supercharger on it and some more internal work done to the engine (cams, ported heads, etc.) and was pushin about 750 hp and was about to upgrade the supercharger. He said that the guys at Procharger were really cool and they are local so i was looking at going towards them since it would be easier to do that and get a great tune straight working with the company. What do you guys think? I also like the centrifugal supercharger part, i wasn't gonna think about it if it wasn't.

superchargers just dont make enough torque to my liking, not just a supercharger but all superchargers will never make as much torque as a turbo would...i'd personally get a turbo over a supercharger any day

All the numbers i've seen, superchargers are putting out more tq, not as high of hp but the hp and tq are usually pretty equal with the sc. Turbos have a big hp gain and alright tq gain, but i don't know, thats just what i've noticed. I'd like to get around 300 hp and 230-260 tq. I can use 100 or 110 race fuel, but would still like more input on what everyone thinks. Plus, again, tom is north carolina and i'm in kansas city, mo. And procharger is located around here. Anybody elses opinion? Whats everybody think on the numbers? Which would result better? Also, i can get Procharger to tune it for me right from them.

One thing to keep in mind is longevity... superchargers tend to have longer lifespans, from what i have heard.

I will answer your question like this

Do you want HP (supercharger) or do you want TQ/HP (turbo)

Tom

From the fall issue of Focus Fanatics magazine. (article starts on page 18)
Numbers are from an install on a standard 2.0 Zetec - ZX3 (non-SVT) running 10psi.
203.5whp @ 6,000
185.0wtq @ 5,400

I would assume the SVT will produce a bit better numbers.

A turbo kit with the same boost would be in the 220/220range tho

Cause i've heard bad things of the roots style. HEy Tom, with 100 or 110 octane race fuel, do you think with your full kit i could get close to 300 hp? and in the upper 200's in tq? Also, how much psi could i make with that. Up to 15 maybe?
