Is the catch can vented ? or is there another line connected back to the intake. And what size are the lines. Should be a minimum of 5/8" hose..
You have a tune for the turbo right, just not with a catch can? (shouldnt matter) can or not. But to small of lines wont let it breath. How much boost are you running? And you say all the emissions are still hooked up. PCV also?

Whoa, you really should ask this in the Ecoboost and Turbocharging forum. I'm fairly certain you don't want an oil breather of any kind connected to the intake. You already found out why- it puts boost in your crank case. The PCV itself is only supposed to flow one direction if it's working properly, so it might be ok if the valve is good. If either one of these is vented to the atmosphere, then the other is not needed. You're not going to have pressure build up on the bottom side of the motor and not the top side because there are oil drain holes that go from top to bottom. You might be able to plug your PCV, but you should ask the guys that have more experience at this.

Ford Focus Technical Chat is for discussions relating to general maintenance, electrical issues, engine trouble, and recalls. Most of the time if the problem is directly related to a modification, then this isn't the best forum for it. Something more specialized would be better.

Moved to Ecoboost and Forced Induction Chat.

Yup, I figured it had to be PCV. Mine was smoking before I even went boosted. If you open the butterfly to the TB and look straight down to the bottom of the intake. You will see a little puddle of oil. Both the PCV and the Valve cover should be run to the catch can or vented to ground. But I didnt like the oil dripping all over my new drive way. So I made a catch can.
