just bought a 2004 JRSC'd SVT, now lots of problems

Well, i'm kinda dissapointed, cause i just got a good deal on the car, i drove it about 1100 miles, and now it seems like its not making boost. it isn't reading boost on the gauge and it runs like crap, not really driveable. (it doesn't have a bbk) now, i'm not a newb to cars, and the first thing i checked was the serpentine. i thought it broke, but its still there and has very good tension on it! any other ideas? i'm not a car tuner, but i know my way around cars, so i can pretty much fix it if i can identify it! so i'd really appreciate some help!

thanks

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. A car will run terribly and will have trouble making boost if there is a vacuum leak. Start checking things like your PCV line, vacuum lines around your fuel rail, etc.

Any check engine codes?

I just posted in your other thread. I would check the bypass valve first. If it has a hole in the diaphragm you wont see any boost and it will act like a vac leak.

Looking for other leaks; you can spray carb cleaner around the hoses etc. with the motor running. If there's a leak the motor will stumble when you spray it.

I"ll bet its a vaccuum line off somewhere as ell, and make sure the AC is off, that can make the belt slip on JRSC

Used I have seen from 750-1200 a new engine for boost I sell for 3550.00 complete engine

You will need some tuning and a J&S Safeguard when you get an engine or this will just happen again , My bet is if you had the J&S on you would still have a good engine

Ya, i wouldn't be surprised, but the guy i bought it off of drove it for like 30k miles as is. and never had a problem w/ it. i just DD it and it happened. i might rebuild it, i dunno. would rather pick up a used one! I think the tune on it is really crappy.
