maf position????

just got a question about the right location of the MAF??? between TB and BOV? and why? Or on the intake pipe between air filter and turbo??? Mine is on the intake pipe....have some surge problems

a blow through setup puts the MAF between the TB and BOV
a suck through setup puts the MAF between the filter and the turbo

blow through is believed to be better. it also allows your BOV to be vented into the atmosphere.

sooo, you say that your MAF is on the intake? how does your BOV blowoff? does it re-circulate or does it vent to the atmosphere. if your not recirculating, this is gonna cause some issues cause your losing air that was calibrated to be there, and its going out your BOV.

i got the SAP DIY turbo set up... the car has pegged the MAF at 5800rpm in 3rd gear with 3in tube... but now we have issues with the car continuously going open loop and close loop for some weird reason.... there is no codes on ECU and the datalog doesnt show anything wrong with the car

you need to convert to blow-through if you want to keep your BOV venting to the atmosphere. its not hard, just requires re-routing the tubes.

who is your tuner?
you need MAFia.

Everything you talking about sounds tune related , If your pegging you maf (very common) get a MAFia on it to cure that

Couldnt tell much from the VID looks like your suckthrough which will work if you tuner knows how to adjust to make the BOV venting to Atmos work properly

Its best to change it to blowthrough but a little harder to tune if they havent done any before and with them not using the MAFia I dont think they have done many Foci Turbo tunes

no im the first turbo focus... hahah well just how does mafia trick the ecu? i've maxed my stock MAF at 5800rpm in 3rd gear on only 12psi.....what does mafia do to fix that????
