C16 Race Gas

Well, Import vs Domestic World Cup Finals is this coming weekend. I'm looking for a good race gas that will keep the engine safe. I'm not so much worried about making more power for the event, I just want to make it safe.

According to the following information from the VP Racing Fuels website, C16 is preferred for turbocharged applications.

C16
Used in turbocharged engines, blown engines and nitrous applications with CRs up to 17:1. Recommended by the top nitrous oxide companies. Spec Fuel for NHRA Comp Eliminator.

TYPICAL VALUES
Color: Blue
Motor Octane 117
Specific Gravity: .735 at 60 F

My goal is to have a 12.xx dial-in for the bracket E/T class. Does anyone have any experience with C16 on a turbo'd Focus? Can it damage sensors? Is it safe to run with a 93 pump gas tune?

With your build and boost level and you not upping the boost it will depend a lot on how mich 91/93 you have in the tank already

If the tank is very low and you go to 100 you will be very safe and wouldnt need over that , the more 91/93 in your tank the higher octane you will need to raise the octane

I was looking at about 2 gallons or less of 93 octane and adding 2 gallons of C16. However, It has become apparent that I can get VP-110 much easier and it costs a good bit less. Since I will not be adding spark or upping boost, the VP-110 will do just fine.

waht is your af tuned to. vp110 is oxygenated and will burn a little leaner than your 93 tune. FYI

A 50/50 mix of 93/110 will net you 101 octane and as stated will be safer why on the track

Just watch your AF as it will change a little
