jsrc instaation problems.

Hey all.
I bought a jrsc bbk from slocssvt in feb this year. Kudos to him for a good kit. Anyway, took it to the mechanic about 2 months ago to get installed along with a few oer bits. Any way I printed the instruction manual from the web and all that and gave it to the mechanic. Now he is saying that the sc sits too close to the firewall like 1inch from it and that he is having alignment issues with the pulleys from the sc and the altenator.

Does any one have anyclues or hints or help. Btw its a euro focus I'm in australia. Standard motor 2ltr no mods.
Has this happened before to anyone? Should I call jackson for some help or call anyone else?

Cheers in advance.

as far as sitting to close to the fire wall, have him check the rear motor mount (dog bone)between the trans and subframe. Usually if it's bad it lets the motor rotate toward the fire wall.
What exactly is wrong with the alignment of the pulleys, it would help narrow things down a bit.

Well he has replaced the mounts with aftermrket ones, he says the are more heavy duty. Would u think using stock ones would ne the go?
With the alignment he says that once its all aigned and put in only haf the belt is spinning the sc.

just a thought.. its not an "SVT" JRSC kit is it, if that would even matter?

I cant see how you would have any alignment issues since the manifold can only bolt on one way to the head.. then supercharger onto the manifold one way, not much room for it to slide in or out. Ive pulled mine off and installed like 5 times and never even had to think about aligning it, everything has been perfect every time.

Take some pictures and post up, im sure the problem would be VERY evident

the non svt JRSC kit has 2 different alternator mounting relocation brackets; that have different ways of routing the belt. The old style bracket had poor belt wrapping around the supercharger pulley with the old style of routing. There is a new style you can route the belt iirc. I had a PDF with all the info for it but its now a dead link. I will see if I still have it on my computer; I'm sure I have a copy printed somewhere too.

"edit"

Found what I was looking for. These are the NON svt install instructions. The last couple pages have the info on the alt brackets and belt routing changes; along with belt lengths. I hope it helps.

The supercharger does sit pretty close to the firewall normally, but nobody has had a problem with it hitting anything as far as I know. Have him check your engine mounts... if one or more are broken, that would cause a problem.

slocus was selling a non-SVT JRSC, but the way, so it's the right one.

Thanks all.

I feel confident enough to say to the mechanic that the clearence wont be an issue. regarding the belt wrapping, the best way to explain it is that when he puts the belt on only two of the teeth are spinning the SC.

Slocssvt sent me a pm with some pictures and info, ill pass that off to the mechanic as well as go and see him and see if that helps at all. but by all means please keep any information comming.

Thanks.
