Couple of interesting supercharged zetecs

and yes this one is compound charged.

Both of them use the same sort of set up as the Vortech supercharger kit in that they both use a drive shaft from one side of the engine to the other to turn the supercharger so it would be interesting on how they would compare. Anyone seen these before and know anymore about them?

Wow...that is some crazy custom work, holy crap. I don't see how the supercharger connects to the intake manifold, though...is it partially disassembled?

The first couple of pictures the car must have still been being built but you get the idea of what the guy is trying to do.

I'm interested in if the eaton charger is a better choice than what the Vortech kit offers?

Any one see the turbo sitting in the engine bay in the last picture? Looks like it's turbo'ed and supercharged.

The first pic has a regular exhaust mani

Yes, the OP noticed it first. If you see his image description, he put "Yes, the car is compound charged" meaning turbo/super.

The Eaton charger will help with the low end power. A Vortech would have worse lag than even a large turbo, so a compound charged Vortech/GT35r setup would be horribly laggy. Every twincharged setup I've seen uses a roots blower because of the instant boost.

Yes it it compound charged.

Could we please stay off the topic of compound charging in this thread as all other threads Ive seen about compound charging just turn into arguments.

I would like to stick to the superchager setup these both have.

If you are actually interested in running a roots blower like these, I would look into getting a TVS unit. They are produced by Eaton, are more efficient than the older style blowers (e.g., M62), and are smaller. A good unit for a 2.0L is the R1320. Doing a quick Google search, it looks like you can't just buy them off the street, so to speak. Have to find a distributor and all that.
