ZX3 DIY Turbo Build

My turbo finally arrived so now I can finally make a thread about my diy build.
2003 zx3 , gutted, lowered, and that's it for now.
my plans include. 42lb green tops, sct programming, sidemount intercooler, pcv delete, one highflow cat and muffler, 2.5inch exhaust, not sure on the charge pipe size yet. not sure about the bov. my turbo is a td04 13g. gonna use the stock exhaust mani. wideband a/r. and boost gauge, maybe an oil pressure gauge as well. turbo timer with the boost being controlled by the wastegate.i know i have a hard time ahead of me but this thing IS going to go boost or bust. if i blow it im gonna rebuild it and boost it again. this is going to be a diy build. im gonna post pics of what i have so far tomorrow.

turbo timmer is a waste of money you dont need one. why dont you put a front mount on it, much better than that side mount crap. charge pipe side would be good a 2.25 hot and 2.5 cold.

i ran 2.5" into my intercooler then 3" out also tom talked me into running 60lb injectors for more play room ( very smart idea ) aslo if you are going to be running any real amount of boost you are going to need a mafia definitly with a 2.5" intake maybe also a b-a-p . and dont forget you copper plugs gaped to around .035 you dont wanna see you stockies melting

you can always swap out to an svt fuel pump and get a tune from tom when you get your xcal 10-14psi shell hold up fine as long as you dont go crazy beating on her but you are still going to need a mafia so you dont peg you maf cuz that = boom boom. and also keep you pcv just get one ment to see boost c-f-m sells them at good price also if you still wanna go 42lbs and dont have them yet i still have mine they were installed and fired up once then i swapped to 60lbs pm me and ill give u a good deal 100$

TD04 13g turbo? What's that, half the size of my fist? Also, are you going to weld the correct flange onto your stock manifold? Just seems like for all the hassle that a turbo comes with, might as well get a nicer turbo and manifold to start with.

mu buddy just got a vf34 or something for his 03 wrx and he handed me this turbo. i was going to go with nitrous. me and my bro had a t3t4 turbonetics on d16. it was fun till it blew up. plus we spent well into 4 grand on that setup, but yes im going to weld the flange on to the mani. this turbo will be great for what im looking for. if all else fails i can always upgrade the mani and turbo after i get it running nice.
