need some FI direction

So heres where i am at, ive had the procharger on my car for just over a year and a half. Really has been nothing but a headache from sucking up water and ruining sensors, to leaking output shaft seals. However when everything was working i loved it. WELLL recently i had my blower sent out to http://www.superchargerrebuilds.com/ to have the output shaft seal replaced. And i read mixed reviews and rolled the dice. anyways things where great for about a week until i realized a strange rattling sound. come to find out when i sent it of to fix he forgot/misplaced a spacer so the pulley bearing and pulley was bouncing around, and its my fault for not noticing before i put it back on.anyways long story short. i decided to buy a dd (minicooperS). and just keep the foci as a project car.

I have a 14b tdo5h laying around from an old project.Do i fab a turbo kit seeing how i already have the cool side/injectors/mafia/gauges/turbo.... or do i just send out my blower to ati and have them fix the damage.

Whats your thoughts???

for your viewing pleasure

thats why im so torn. if i send my procharger out to ati i know it needs a new pulley, bearing, key. and im pretty sure it leaks oil still. so a new seal. vs some pipes for a manifold and down pipe and oil feed lines, boost controller

That little 14b isn't going to make much power on the SVT, though. If you're gonna bother going turbo, get a better turbo. Turbo beats centrifugal blower every time when compared at the same boost level.

With a turbo, specially with a tdo5h, you'll most likely get alot more low-mid range power where as the procharger makes full power high up in the rpm range. Turbo would probably be more fun to play around with as a DD or track car. Also you can always improve your turbo setup for more power as money allows where as the procharger would quickly get maxxed out. IMO I'd go with turbo. And those turbos are very reiable aren't they? I just put a Saab Mitsu TDO4 15T turbo with 120,000 miles on our new Saab 9-5 and there was barely noticeable shaft play in it along with no smoke meaning the seals are also good.

IMHO, don't build a kit based on a turbo, build a turbo kit based on your goals. you can pick up cheap turbo's all the time. look for a good kit. and its EASY to make that kind of power on a turbo.

The 14b will max out quickly. If you get the overdrive crank pulley as well as a smaller pulley on the ProCharger, you can make 280whp. 14b would be very hard pressed to do that. As others have said, once you get the manifold and downpipe, you can swap out the turbo to meet your needs. Way more versatile than a blower.

I'm with these guys. Stick with the supercharger for existing power levels and skip the 14b completely if you're going turbo.
