Jrsc intermittent lean idle

Well guys I need your expertise on this one, recently I have an intermittent lean idle condition. Little history its a 2000 with the jrsc ford racing bbk tune. Over all the car runs great, starts right up, runs strong and the a/f ratio is spot on in boost and normal driving. I'm getting 20 in. hg. at idle and it stays there even when the car goes lean. When the problem occurs it will idle really rough until I tap the gas then it shoots back up and hovers around 14.8 and sometimes its fine after that, others it just drops back off the wideband to ---. I've also noticed recently that the car kind of exhales when I shut if off, I get this pssstttt sound from my intake when shutting the car off. I'm not sure if it has always done this or if its linked to my idle issue. So what do you think, I've dealt with it as long as I can and I need your help. Thanks

Do you happen to have a tuner that could look at a log for you to see why you're leaning out/ losing fuel?

He has the Ford tune. When was the last time you reset your ecu? shouldn't have to, but it may help.

Try checking your by-pass valve on the manifold. I had similar issues when mine "spring a leak". Easiest thing to do is hook up a Mighty-Vac to the by-pass and start pumping...it will pull a vacuum on the line and the by-pass should open (or pull back). If you can't pull the by-pass open or it just sits there bobbling and wont hold vacuum, then you have a hole.

If that's not it, I would check the other lines that see only vacuum for leaks.

Ok well I tried reseting the ecu I disconected the battery for a couple hours, came back and now it is worse. It wont idle unless I press on the gas pedal, and sounds like it is missing. Haven't had a chance to check the stuff you suggested yet sleestak.

Found the problem, had a leak in a vacuum line for the pcv valve all is well now. Ended up buying all new vacuum line, should be good to go for awhile.

With boost your pcv shouldnt be going to the intake anyway , I would take the valve cover and pcv both to the ground and not suck that hot oily air back into the engine

That's the way Jackson Racing has the PCV routed: PCV to the purge valve and inlet plenum.

If you're going to dump the PCV and valve cover lines, at least use an oil catch can so you're not just dripping it on the ground.
