universal T3/T4 turbo

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Unive...Q5fAccessories

I found this on Ebay and was wondering if its worth buying it. I know the fswerks kit is like 4k and thats a little much for me right now. I have a stock 07 zx3 and was curious as to if this would fit? would it be easy to install? what else would I need to install this? Injectors?

I really am clue less so if one of you guys can lend me some of your knowledge that would be nice. Oh yea please explain everything as if you were talking to someone in high school because I dont have an expanded knowledge of cars.

Sounds too good to be true. Be wary when buying serious stuff like that from eBay. You may end up buying a new motor when yours blows up because the turbo is crap.

Moving ya to EcoBoost & Forced Induction Chat.

First off, there is no such thing as a "universal" turbo kit, no matter what Ebay says.

Second, if You seriously want a turbo kit, please do not skimp on the cost, as Your engine depends on You taking care of it to keep from dying, and putting cheap parts into her is an e ticket to the scrap pile.

The F2 kit is well worth its' weigh in salt, ask pretty much anyone who has it. No, it's not cheap. But I wouldn't want it if it were. Take Your time, save up and do it right the first time around. You won't regret it, like I'm absolutely sure You would if You bought that Ebay "kit"

It's a lot easier to turbo a Civic for cheap because the market is FLOODED with performance parts for them. There are Civics with eBay turbo kits running strong for thousands of miles. I personally would stick with slightly more reputable parts, though.

F2 closed down a few weeks ago. But, agreed, if you're gonna do it, do it right. Honda's are Hondas and Foci are Foci. Different animals with different modding capabilities.

I did an eBay kit for my first build... I had to purchase a manifold and injectors. I also had to custom fab a down pipe as no one was making one at the time.
Though I did have a pretty good automotive background. I managed to complete the build in two weekends. The turbo lasted for almost two years. Then It went up in smoke. I got very very very lucky that it didn't take the motor.... I was able to buy a new turbo and fab a new down pipe in a weekend. I don't regret doing the kit as it got me into the game. Though I think I had better luck than most with the eBay turbo. I hope my input helps make your decision.... I would recommend to purchase a pipe kit off of eBay, just don't use the crappy red couplers.

The $100 CX Racing intercooler pipe kits are a really good deal BUT your piping ends up looking like crap because you have to use so many couplers and clamps. Here's a pic of my setup when I was turbo'd:

You could always cut them in a way that an exhaust shop could weld them up, but that's gonna add on $200+ worth of welding and you also have to find someone who is competent at aluminum welding (more difficult than steel).
