actually when you start getting into really really high boost levels an automatic will do better than a manual any day of the week. but those are built transmissions. a stock tranny might take 200whp.

if you want to boost your car then fine but you will have to upgrade your tranny. dont get all mad either because the guys with manuals have to upgrade their trannys too so they can take the boost. clutch and differential for example. check out lentech for ATX upgrades.

i am really thinking about buying the turbo kit soon but my car has 124000 miles on it. i was thinking about stripping it down to the block and putting new parts on it. do i have to do that or is there any other way i can rely on tht motor staying good with boost?

Compression test it if all four cylinders are the same it's safe to boost. They should be about 120 psi if all cylinders are healthy.
