Angry Not very happy with my day at the dyno

Ok so I went to Speedy Dyno today for a dyno day. For some reason I thought they had a Dynojet, but instead they had Superflow Dyno. Which is like a mustang dyno where it has resistance, but instead of a set amount, it uses the weight of the car to calculate how much resistance to use. This is to give a "real world" reading. So basically it is going to read lower, but since the resistance varies, I can't use my numbers to compare to anything. They basically mean nothing to me. On top of that, they built the building around the dyno so close that you can't put a fan in front of it so my motor is just sitting there heat soaking with no air circulating. You can see where the fan was in the video. And then after it was taken off the dyno, I realized the wideband pipe they put in my tailpipe pulled my exhaust over a half inch and melted my brand new svt diffuser. Needless to say, I am pretty pissed. Anyway on with the results. End rant.

And a vid

On a lighter note. The car right after me was a stock Neon. It made a whopping 75 hp!

sorry to hear about your bad experiences. you should get it dynoed somewhere else now.

what a horribly designed dyno. I'd definitely take the drive and go to the other one. It'd make you feel better seeing some higher numbers.

on a superflow dyno my saab 9000 made 410whp and 373 wftlbs at 18psi of boost....
if a dyno jet reads higher then my car will be faster that day? or is it about the bragging rights?

im just givin ya crap

in all honesty i have dynoed on both the dyno jets and mustang dynos and you can figure about a 12% loss on the mustang over the dynojets....

moral is ALWAYS use the same dyno after upgrades... that way your never disapointed becuase the last time you was on a dyno it was a optimistic dyno and this time your on a pesimistic dyno

This wasn't a Mustang dyno, I know to figure the 12% loss for that. This one I don't know what it is comparable to. And this was my first dyno so I guess this is my starting point.

hate to hear about the exhaust and diffuser...

i agree tho that it would be worth the trip to another dyno... even if it is 3 hrs away... if your work schedule allows make a road trip out of it and stay the nite... nothing like a good road trip when you get the time
