focus help (turbo)

i have an 01 with the zetec. alot of miles though. i got a turbo kit for it. was wondering what it would do to a stock engine. or what the minimum is that i have to do to the engine. im building a new motor was going to put the turbo on that but i dont want to wait any more.

first off, what turbo kit did u buy. second u will need tuning, but if ur compression is good and on good tuning you can make 240 on a stock motor

There's no definite answer for that question. Depends on how much boost you're going to be running, what condition your engine is in, etc.

Forged internals and ARP head studs are the obvious things in a built engine.

Welcome to the forum (and greetings from Dundee). I'm looking forward to seeing some of the Top Speed stuff. You might consider starting a new thread down in the Forced Induction area where there are plenty of turbo gurus.

Welcome to ff. The topspeed turbo kit is one of the best on the market right now for the focus. You will definetly need tuning Tom (turbo1focus) does a good tune or you you can get one in house from topspeed and stick with your turbo kit maker. There kit with the stock block can do 250 at 12 psi. boost. Don't wanna push much past that cause the rods might break if you push much more boost than 12 psi.
