Turbo for zx3

So I'm going to buy a newer Dohc 2.0 motor and want to get a turbo. I've looked on andys auto and they have a kit but I need to know what else I'll need.

Welcome to the forum and where is Andy's Auto's? Why buy a newer motor? Is yours bad?

Andys auto sport is a website based out of Cali. It's not that it's a bad motor it just has a lot of miles and I'd rather fix up an engine out of the car for a bit more room

You should check out the Forced Induction section. All of your answers would be there.

http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=44

Also I have never heard of Andy's Auto's. There are other kits out there that are better known.

Also high mileage motor doesn't mean it's bad. If it checks out ok with a compression check and leak down test then it'll handle some boost.

What are your HP goals? A stock zetec can easily put down 250hp with a turbo after that your pushing it. A SVTF can put down 300hp on stock internals.

Why not build the one you got. Probably be cheaper and safer for turbo.

Yea, I'd try and find a used but a quality one so you wont have to upgrade later on; if not, I'd definetely get Tom's kit, I wish I'd gotten that one from the beginning and i would have saved money in the long run after all the upgrades I did to the Roush kit, which I had problems with since the day i installed it.
