Looking to Piece together a Turbo kit for my SPI

After looking around a bit, i thought it might be a little fun to turbo my little SPI, mostly because it would give me the biggest results. Now, I have searched and searched, and I have been told the SPI doesn't handle boost as well as the zetec, which is understood, but I havent seen any actual contestants to the results you can get from turboing the SPI. so I have a few questions.

Has anyone here turbo'd their SPI?
and what types of affordable but effective parts should i be looking for. Since it wont have to handle probably more than 10 PSI max, the turbo wont have to be anything fancy. just reliable and small.

There are a few people have turbo'd the SPI, but just doing a quick search, I don't even see SPI turbo manifolds for sale. It's going to take some ingenuity and some custom parts, unfortunately.

Do you have any power goals? That will get your foot in the door on choosing the correct turbo. T25 turbos off Nissans or a VJ17 off an older Tbird coupe would get you some positive results for a fun DD build.
You don't have to go too large on your piping, maybe 2" or 2.25". Get an intercooler that will fit in front of the A/C condenser.
Make sure you get some decent flow injectors.. 36, 38, or 42lb would be good. 42 being the best since you have room to expand. (~275hp)
Eh, those are a few basics. You'll need an oil feed line as well as a oil return. You need to tap your oil pan for the return.
Get a boost gauge and a wideband for tuning.
There's a lot more than just this, but those are the basics..

Spyder, I saw that one and actually talked to him. Its a matter of myself getting the cash together, but the way things are going right now, I worry it might be gone by the time I actually have the money together. Also I may be a little naive for saying this but I would think a well known brand turbo would run better than an ebay turbo.

I don't want to put too much stress on the engine seeing as it is has to be usable as a DD for a few more solid years, but I would love to track it in the long run. Like i said, I'm having a hard time finding numbers on the gains seen on an SPI, so i don't know what kinda of numbers that are reasonable or that i can expect.

Ask that guy if he will do payments. Buying that kit is by far your best bet. Plus you can always replace that Turbo with a brand name one of the same trim. It would be a nightmare to try to piece together a kit for an SPI.

^^ Agreed, it is at least a great start.

Although I dont like buying used kits.

Start pricing out stuff and you will realize that is a bargain for many of the basic components that you could later swap out if you needed.
