Red face for the millionth time

i just have a question for the bewsted foci's out there. my focus will be at about 110,000 by this time next year and by this time next year i plan on adding the so called boost to the car.i was thinkin 8psi would be safe if im not right please correct me but i dont know how truly strong these motors are so if anyone can throw in there 2 cents feel free ! thank you

ps. i do regular maintence and everything but i dont know if that matters after the 100k point lol

do a compression test. I would have no broblem boosting a high milage motor that has good rings and such.

your motor can take about 14 or 15 psi MAX on stock internals. so if you run 10-12, you'll be around 220 whp which is a very safe number.

really ? damn im gonna have to do that compression test then where do i do that ? well im gonna answer my own question and say my local specialized turbo shop lol they can prob do that for me right?

i wouldn't cause if they are out to make a quick buck, they will say yes no matter what.

compression testing is very easy. all you do is buy a compression tester, pull out the spark plugs (and fuel pump fuse) and insert compression tester in spark plug hole, then crank the car over (obviously it won't start) and read the gauge. if all your numbers are in about 10% of eachother, your ok, if not, better not or the motor may die quick.

No i would get Toms DIY kit or even maybe FS zetec kit if it comes out soon enough. but would go with toms kit first

yeah i actually talked to a friend of mine earlier he said i can buy the tester from snap on its not to bad or he can get one from a friend probably and thanks alot for the info i appreciate it
