Question "brand new build for a newbie and need some help please?"

Hey guys, As I am not a newbie to FF I am definatly a newbie to the turbo scene and I have been reading thread after thread and doing some research but there is so much to learn and figure out.
So I decided to start a thread and get some help. You guys have always been great to help so I am hoping this wont be any different.
First of all, I am just trying to figure out what are the best parts to get and where to get em.
I plan on doing some head work, possibly getting a new ford racing head or another but I am not going with all really expensive parts.
Also, I guess you should know I have a donor car with the Zetec and I am ditching my spi.
I am hoping to get upwards of 300whp and I have a turbonetics turbo lined up from Honda Hunter so hopefully I will have that very soon.
I also know I need an intercoolor rad but what size I have no idea? So any suggestions on that would be a huge help, as well as new fuel injectors?
I am also planning on a turbo header from TopSpeed but if you guys think I should go with a different on please feel free to say so. Thats why I am asking, to get honest and helpful info.
Now, I know I am gonna sound like a complete idiot but what is the difference between a BOV and a wastegate? If there is any. And how do I determine what brand is the best or what one to buy?
I guess I will start with these parts for now and once i get these out of the way I will buy some more parts.
Any help you guys can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
:)

Unless you build your motor you wont get to your goal with a standard zetec.
You could go with toms diy kit, that would be your best best unless you wanna but and fit all your own pieces. Bov vents excess air in charge piping ie when shifting etc.... Wastegate vents exhaust gasses around turbine of turbo to stop spooling. An ebay bov will do just fine and the turbonetics evo wg is great.

Look up Tom's DIY it and it will you give you an almost complete list of parts that you'll need. After you look it over, come back with any questions you have

for 300whp you need to build the engine. you dont need a different head, the stock one would get you there and you could invest the money on the internals.

60lb injects for cfm

the topspeed manifold is nice looking and will make the power you want but tom's kit is cheaper, comes with more of what you need, and the manifold is cast iron so it is very strong and it will not have any prob with 300hp

I am going to to my internals as well. I thought I would need to buy a new head as well. there just isnt anyone around here that does a port and polish. It really sucks. I cant get anything here where I live.
Once I am done, I am gonna need to fly one of you turbo guys up here to beautiful Cape Breton for a fishing trip in exchange for a great tune. Any takers?
SO!!!! A turbonetics waste Gate is the best one out there? Great. Thats my first thing to buy. I will look for one now. Thanks guys.
P.S.--To heck with it. I think I will go for the max with the build. If I dont, i am only going to wish I had when I am done.
So guys, whats your opinions on the best parts to buy?

To each his own on the WG. I use the turbonetics evo and its been great to me. Your head will be fine unless you just want a new one it wont hurt. I also love my comp turbo. Talk to tom about it and what your goals are. He also does remote tunes.

Does Tom sell that Evo wastegate?
I would rather buy one from one of the FF sponsors. I checked ebay for the evo wastegate and they are averaging 350.00US.
I want to build the ultimate Zetec and I will buy it in pieces. I just dont have the cash to dish out 2500-3000 grand all at once so I will take my time, do it right, and buy it piece by piece.
So, I have a stock zetec guys to start with. I am gonna need everything so if someone has a suggestion on pistons, feel free to let me know, or pullies, let me know.
I am not gonna lie, I know squat about this so I will let you guys choose the parts for me and hopefully in the end I will have made an awesome motor to be proud of.
I will also post pics of each part and my progress as I get things done. Thanks so much in advance. You guys here on FF have been so helpful from day one and I have already learned so much from you all. I hope this is no different.

Checking out wastegates on the web I see that they have different psi spring rates. Should I buy one that has an assortment of different springs?

Have you read the F/I stickies in this section? Highly recommend if you haven't. Some of your questions have been answered a lot. If you just browse through some of the *numerous* turbo builds going on (including mine), you will get an idea of what kind of parts that people use.

I have read a few of them. Its the simple questions I need answers to actually. Like the wastegate . I have seen 38mm ones and 44mm ones but How do I know what size I will need? Things like that. I will go through the stickies again.
