turbo quetion

I am thinking about turboing my ZX3 someday... But I have one question will turboing it kill my gas mileage that I am getting now? or how bad will it kill my gas mileage?

I think most people will say there are still to many variables in that question. Like what kind of turbo set up, how big or small, how much boost, ect.

The other response is going to be based simply on how you drive. If your going to keep your right foot in check and stay out of boost your gas milage probably wont suffer. On the other hand if you can't keep your right foot in check you should expect to see worse gas milage.

Just my thought, Im sure others will chime in

i have a vortech which is not a turbo but even with my foot causing wot all around town at 10psi, i still grabbed 25mpg with about 3/4 being highway. Normal for me is around 29. So I still see decent milage even with a heavy foot so no worries. I would try to worry more on who tunes it rather than mpg but thats just me!

If you're light enough with it it's possible for it to improve your MPGs. But in all likelyhood if you drive it like a normal person who just turbo'd their car you will take a hit in your MPGs, bit nothing drastic.

unless you are constantly getting deep in the boost your mpg wont suffer from a turbo build.

you can get just as good of gas mileage. turbo's make the motor more efficient. therefore you get better gas mileage per displacement power levels.
